Future College Football Playoff Schedule

I think this new playoff is great! But looking at the future schedule of playoff games, The other bowl semifinal pairings Cotton, Orange in 2016 and Peach, Fiesta in 2017 are forced to play on New Year's Eve versus New Year's Day.
What gives?!! Does anyone agree with me that this will take eyeballs away from New Year's Day and make it meaningless because (I'm guessing) the Rose and Sugar Bowls made a stand that they have to be on New Year's Day? Especially the Rose with the parade which predates the game itself.

Pretty sure it just has to do with the way the dates fall on the calendar to ensure there's enough time between the semi finals and championship game, that's presumably on a Monday.

Those bowls will suffer just because they won't be hosting a playoff game that year and that's where the excitement will be.
But there will still be interest if they get a good matchup. The Rose would still be golden hosting an Ohio State-USC matchup, even if it's Michigan and Oregon repping those conferences in a playoff.
The Sugar may be a little more up in the air and would depend on which team they get and if the #2 SEC team is interesting.
