Current standings:

7. Spurs (20-14)
8. Suns (19-16)
9. Pels (17-16)
10. Thunder (17-17)

So, the spurs and thunder are in the positions that they're in due to injuries. However, the thunder are the only team that will and are quickly recovering. My pick for the 7th seed.

So, that'll leave the old, injury proned spurs, suns, and pels battling for 8th.

I certainly don't root for injuries for any player, but the pelicans have had their own issues with Gordon. Time for one of the other teams to get bit...

Can't wait for the rest of this January schedule! And with EG joining the mix, It'll at least make things interesting...

Thunder will probably move up to around 5 or 6. Spurs will hang with Suns and Pels until around All-Star break then rattle off 15 wins in a row and be a top 6 seed.
9th in the West would be a success this year. And I would watch the Rockets, if we catch anybody it'll be them

Also another thing to consider is does the NBA want to miss out on their bright young superstar mising out on the playoffs.

I wonder if the young Pels start getting treated like one of the league favorites by the refs. I know Gordon would welcome it.

Anthony Davis is exciting unlike a guy like Kevin Love.

It'd make the cries for conference realignment even louder if we have 48 wins and miss.

there's a chance 50 wins may miss.

The Spurs will probably start playing all their players after the all star break and turn on the cheat code that is Popovich coaching

Yeah, I'm not terribly worried about Phoenix, but we would probably need two other teams between the 5 and 10 seed to have some fairly serious injury issues to make the playoffs. I know that we have an easier second half schedule wise, but I don't think that we're good enough to play .670 ball the rest of the way. We have a chance if EG comes back strong and we keep seeing "Good Reke", but unlikely.

Good news is Pels are 7-1 against those teams.

48 to 50 wins should get #8
46 to 48 should have the pels keeping the pick
