only had I guitar (PRS Mira) with 24 frets and I didn't care for it. the neck seemed uncomfortably long. traded it in for a Tele.

Can you sub a 22 fret neck, or does that screw up the scale length, etc?

You get 2 octAves on each string
Higher notes on the E
Neck is longer
Not many have a 24 fret guitar so it's unecessary for most songs

I can't ever recall saying to myself, "Jeez, if I only had a couple more frets..."

I have both. Very rarely use beyond the 21st/22nd fret anyway. Would not be a deal breaker for me with any guitar. I do not find the extra length in the neck an issue.
Cons for me would be none, Pros would be just added frets incase if felt like going higher???

I cannot think of any pros or cons for me. I cannot think of any time where I went passed the 18th fret (Metallica stuff).

I can't stand them. The scale length or something throws me off, and I find myself playing in the wrong position. Feels cramped to me as well. Plus why do you need those extra frets? You can always bend up to what would be the 24th fret on a 22 fret guitar.
I guess some shredders and maybe metal guys use them. So if you're into that it could be useful.

Is this the short scale vs. Long scale argument? I know I gravitate towards the short scale guitars....Burns guitars in particular.... and my buddy absolutely hates them.
