It'd be nice for a DC to be on the sidelines to pump up our players and not be a lard arse in the booth

LSU coach on Chavis: "He was not really liked anyway. Zero personality. Always did his own thing."

There are more effective ways to motivate players than yelling at them to no end. Sometimes you have to chew a player our, but you can motivate players to play outside of yelling at them.

I personally think there is an effective way to yell at people, you have to do it enough to keep it in their minds but not so much that they are dull to it. Imagine a coach who doesn't yell that much, maybe once every few practices. Imagine how a player reacts to being yelled at. He probably get not do that again if you yelled at him once, rather than. You threw it little to high so I'm going to curse you out.

Spoken by someone who clearly has never coached. This statement is not true at all. There are many different ways to coach up & motivate players. Each player responds differently. The best coaches know this and adjust to each player accordingly. [quote]this just in: You can't motivate football players with love and kindness.

Sounds like Nick Saban. You are right. Saban is a terrible coach!

Timely that we're learning about this after his departure. Last week, this coaching style would be praised on this board.
