Cam did the unthinkable. He won the NFC South 2 years in a row.

Even Brees couldn't do that.

let's not act like Carolina earned it. to be honest, nobody from the division should be in the playoffs

Yet, since Cam they have gone 6-10, 7-9, 12-4, & 7-8-1. That stat means nothing.

thus, he wins when it matters most.

Looks like improvement every year, no?

Also take into account they were 2-14 the year before they drafted Cam Newton. 2 wins, 6 wins, 7 wins and then 12 wins.

Oh, really? The Carolina Panthers were 3-0 with him as starting quarterback in the month of December this year. Without all of those wins, they don't make the playoffs. Are you sure that stat means nothing?

very true. But it isn't like Cam had a tough schedule to wrap it up. You're giving him too much credit.

Look, Cam is a great athlete. His physical attributes are just ridiculous. But, he isn't Carolina's messiah. They won't ever win a SB with Cam at the helm unless they spend all their money on defense.

Wasn't DA the QB for two of their wins, albeit against TB? So Cam led his team to a 5-8-1 record in the worst division in football. I think this may be just a down year, but he hasn't been what I would call a beast this year.

How about by upgrading at wide receiver, where they field one of the worst groups in the NFL? Or by drafting/signing an offensive tackle, where every single one on roster went undrafted? How about getting rid of the overpaid running backs that stay off the field more than on? What about getting rid of Mike Shula?

Their offense could be world's better if they took the time to address the problems.

This thread seems strange given that Newton just finished the worst season of his professional career.

Just goes to show the irrational ways in which people evaluate athletes.

due to the fact that he lost 3 of his main weapons in the off season.

Well he wasn't anything special when he had them, so I really don't see why this should be a valid excuse. It's not like he was lighting defenses up with Steve Smith and Brandon LaFell.

Carolina will beat a QBless Cardinals team and then get trashed the next round.

The Pro-Bowl is a straight up popularity contest.

He had a good rookie season by rookie standards, but he simply hasn't improved since then. He is a built for a single-read passing scheme which doesn't work consistently in the NFL. Thankfully for him, he has been blessed with a good defense and running game for much of his time in the NFL.

Take the game today: He completed 10 passes for 112 yards and had two picks dropped by the Falcons. However, his defense held Atlanta to 3 points and scored two touchdowns. The Panthers have had a nice run, but Newton is just along for the ride.

The Seattle defense in that stadium will make him quit football.

but he gained Kelvin Benjamin and Greg Olsen is one of the better TE's in the game.

and all of sudden, Jonathon Stewart is playing well again.

meh... Carolina's defense was the leading reason they won today.
