My first fall/winter visit since the annual vacation close.

Started with a dozen raw, and they were, as usual, great. Looks like Michael has been permanently replaced as the shucker but at least they kept it in the family.

I had the fried softshell crab . . . absolutely spot on.

My wife went with the fried oysters. Great stuff. You can't improve on perfection.

On a scale of 1-perfect, what would you give it?

Were you shite faced too?

I haven't been this season, I need to get over there. How was the line ? I've notice more people out front than normal with the holidays.

What happened to Michael? Not that I know who Michael is other than the previous shucker. Just curious.

And I'm in the mood for an oyster sandwich and man that old fashioned oyster stew.

We walked in around 7:30 and got a table for two in the front room right away. Of course . . . that was me . . . so . . .

Went for the first time the other day. Line was about 20 mins. Got raw oysters, 1/2 shrimp poboy and fries. Oysters were good, poboy was good (surprised by the Texas toast bread though). Cash only, would go again but would not rush to get there again.

This thread is like the chickfila commercials during college football. You wake up sunday wanting the stuff and they are closed.

Not at that point.

About 10 minutes on a Friday night at 7, but a big crowd came in right after I got there.

Haters gonna hate. Ive never seen a city hated on so much by people from within its state. While too many things are overrated by tourist and the like Casamentos is not one.

We get to NO only occasionally. We almost always go to Casamento's. Always like the food. Worst thing is the block or two walk required to get there after we park.

Funny - I have never had to stand in line there. Maybe they take pity on an old guy.

must be that.

Brothers and sisters in the Lord. Other than being robbed by two black dudes at Ft Sam Houston in 1971 I have never had a bad moment with anyone Afro-American.

Problem with the walk comes from really abused legs and knees (multiple injuries over the years).

I am sorry if I wrote anything to make to think I have any bias or prejudice against black people.
