A man was mauled to death by the pet pit bull he loved on Christmas day.
Eddie Cahill, 40, was on the ground in his home in Portage, Indiana covered in bites and blood when his wife Blanca Rodriguez returned home at 5 p.m. from spending the day with her family.
Blanca was horrified to find her beloved husband on the floor in a puddle of his own blood.
Rodriguez also found one of the family's dogs, 8-year-old Fat Boy, with a ring of blood around its mouth.

'I don't want people to think bad of pit bulls. It was a freak accident. He loved the dogs,' Rodriguez told reporters of the incident
Rodriguez told police, however, that the pit bull had been 'violent and unpredictable in the past'

Complete idiots.

Why do people even own these dogs anymore?

What is so special about pit bulls that you absolutely have to have one instead of any other breed?

This is the pit lover's version of "He was a good boy. He was gone go tuh college"

They help owners compensate for having unusually small genitals?

Does this also apply to people who own Rottweilers, Dobermans, German Shepherds, and the like?

They are really loving and loyal dogs.

Not joking. They are loyal to the point that they will continue to fight for you even with a mortal injury.

Very strong and has an intimidating look but for the most part not the best of guard dogs breed wise.

Have been known in the past to be called "nanny" dogs because of how they acted towards children.

eta: I see the ignorance is going to be strong in this thread.... I'm out

Ah, those dear lovable pit bulls. I hope Fat Boy finds a nice new home with a loving family with small children.
