Cropped ears and tails is the trashiest thing in the world.

You crop ears. You dock tails. And his tail isn't docked.

Agree. It's not wise to have a guard dog that might turn and kill the one's it's supposed to be guarding.

A five-year review of dog-bite injuries from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, published in 2009 in the journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, found that almost 51 percent of the attacks were from pit bulls

I think you're thinking of English Bulldogs.

My dog is hyper as hell.

Yeah I know a guy that overdosed and after a day when he started rotting his dog ended up eating parts of him before he was found, but I don't see my last dog (75 lb Pitt that died this year RIP) ever being able to hurt or over power me even if he caught me off guard and tried his damnedest.

This is an odd story

Funny enough, I saw Pistolero rising outside of Jackson yesterday. I had a notion to take a picture and make a thread on here, but all of those "mudchecking" references ultimately dissuaded me.

Beautiful dog

I don't agree with the docking of the ears and tail.

Their tails are strong as shite and when they get excited can whip the shite out of you. But they use them so much for balance I couldn't see ever docking the tail.

Overpowering doesn't mean shite to a pit with his jaw fully locked on to your flesh.

I have no issue with natural selection taking pit owners out, but the children living in these houses deserve a better existence.

How could a dog overpower a non-impaired man? I don't get it?

I didn't dock his tail because the standard usually is to keep the tail. Cropping the ears isn't required, but it was traditional and more common at the time.

Yeah it has nothing to do with the type of people that own the dog and how they raise them....

Me and my moms family has had the same line of pitbulls in the family for about 50 years and not one dog we have ever had has ever bite the first person. We only gone dogs to people we know that are vetted. For over 30 years of my life ive had a dog sleeping in the room/bed with me and nothing yet.... Has nothing to do with the way you raise them I guess... Right... It's just a matter of time when I'm going to get mauled.

I've been bit several times by other breeds in my life and have even been attacked by a car.
