What are the best remedies for the stomach virus? Three out of the five, in my house, woke up with it in the middle of the night, including the baby, who is 20 months old.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks yall.

Phenergan for adults. Zofran for kids. Go into urgent care for script or call a doc and have them call it in.

Drink plenty of electrolytes and stay the course. Should pass in 24-36 hours

My wife came home from work throwing crazy mud the day before Christmas Eve. The next evening was feeling better (but stayed home) and by Christmas Morning was fine.

My doc has always told me to not take meds and the best thing is to get it out of your system ASAP.

I appreciate all the input. I think my wife has had the worst of it so far. She says she's aching all over. My boy threw up a good bit and then acted like he was ready to play. Hopefully they've both experienced the worst of what it's going to do to them.

Yes, some docs believe this is best. But, if you want something for symptoms, phenergen is the way to go.

Personally, I'd rather have a couple extra hours of the virus with less symptoms.

And for shits a giggles, I'd be willing to bet that most docs who say to not take phenergan when you have a stomach virus are th first one calling in their own script when they can't walk to the fridge without shitting their pants or want to puke at the sight of a Wendy's commercial.

Same exact thing happened to my little one. Puked at school during the day and was 100% by the next morning.

I might try to go get some pedialyte, just in case it's not quite gone.

I hope it passed quickly. It sucks for him because he doesn't know what it is, so he can't give me a warning, so it just comes as a surprise. I've been washing sheets since around 4 this morning. Theyre all asleep now.

Time is unfortunately the best thing. For the youngest, and possibly all of your kids, make sure they're still eating and drinking. If they're not, try to give them small amounts of PediaLyte, maybe 2-3oz/hour. So long as it doesn't drag on with multiple days of not eating, you probably don't even need to do that. Kids are resilient. Pepto bismol may help them with a tummy ache. If they've got a fever, it's ok to give Tylenol or Motrin, but it isn't necessary.

Unfortunately, you and the little ones just need to wait it out.

If you have bugs in your stomach, wouldn't you want to kill them? Maybe call Orkin?

Wash hands like crazy. Throw out all toothbrushes and get new ones. Wash sheets in hot water. Clean out dishwasher, pour bleach in dishwasher and run short cycle.

No food or drink 1-2 hours throwing up. After that, start them small with clear liquids only for 24 hours. Then, move them on to white diet--bread, pasta, potatoes, etc. this of course is for the baby. The older kids don't have to be as extreme.

Watch the baby's pee diapers and make sure they don't get dehydrated. Also, check tongue that is remains wet.

All that.

Poo virus is spread from poo particles.

I often wonder if there is such a thing as a stomach virus or is it simply a matter of unsafe food handling practices leading to food poisoning.
