1. No one that I know of has ever written that everyone wants Miles. Your statement that it has been written is also a "notion unfounded due to lack of evidence".

2.That is precisely my point. Nobody knows, especially the nitwits that hang around here. To say flat out that he has never been contacted is idiocy on a grand scale, but you read it over and over. If it is true, then prove it is all I ask. I have yet to be provided with real evidence, just hearsay, rumor and babbling.

3. This thread should have died long ago, but was hijacked by a desperate defense of of an unproven and probably unprovable (sp?) piece of crap spread by a pretty ignorant crowd.

Right where he needs to be. If he wins another NC, is contract will put him in that stratosphere. Till then LSU needs to sit tight at 4.3. Having his alma mater pass on him a 3rd time and no NC to show for all that NFL talent has cooled the jets of the "any team would love to have Miles" crowd.

Yep, if Miles can win another NC, I have no doubt he would likely become highest paid coach.

I do have my source

If your source is telling there wasn't legit interest in Miles from Mich. in 07, you need another source.

If your source is telling you that Mich. spent 2 days in Louisiana with their #2 choice before flying to Calif. for their #1 guy, you need to get rid of that source as well.

Miles didn't get a 500,000 hike in 2013 cause no one wanted him and he is not making 4+ mil. a year without being a respected for his success HC.

I don't understand the need some seem to have to claim no one would want one of the 3-5 most successful guys in the game for the past 10 yrs, but each to our own.

this is just hearsay, but Miles and Gary Patterson have the same agent, and when Alleva flinched and showered Les with $ over the Arkansas rumor, Patterson was quoted as saying there was no offer or even any contact between Ar-Kansas and the Miles camp

Never said he wasnt respected for his success. Don't know for sure about the 2013 raise due to supposed interest from Ark. And you are right on the UM deal. They were 1000% behind Miles as the #1 target each time. No dissention in the ranks. They offered him the job each time with a higher salary and package than what LSU was paying. His loyalty and love for LSU outweighed his for UM. I stand corrected. Thanks for setting me straight on that. Its all good my friend. Enjoy your holidays and hope you have a great 2015!!!

So I wouldn't take anything he says about Miles at face value.

There was also the business of refusing to come out of the locker room for the last play of the 1st half.

Middle of the pac in secw, come on man.. We have one medocre year because of
amount of underclassmen leaving early and you call us middle of the pack. We will contend for a NC next year with a 11-1 record, you can put that in the bank. Miles is paid what he is worth.

The reason he turned down the Michgan job was because of his family (kids only know BR as home). Miles can make some bone head calls on game day but he is a good recruiter (always top 10 usually top 5 class), leader and role model for the kids he brings into the program. I'm not saying he is the best coach in the world but we could do a lot worst and have.

Hope you're wrong about 11-1. That means either we lose to Bama again or Arky ruins a perfect season... again.

I think this is the point we have all made about Les Miles, it is time for him to go, enough is enough

LSU in 2012, 2013, and 2014 was mediocre. Each season we lost almost all of the biggest games:
2012: Losses: Bama, UF, Clemson
2013: losses: UGA, Bama, Ole Miss
2014: losses: Bama, MSU, AU, Ark.

Average ranking in the west: 3.3
Average ranking in the sec: 4.6

That's average. Some LSU fans refute the facts with saying that "we've won ten games". In 1980 when there was a 10 game season and a bowl that was a winning 90% of games and quite the accomplishment. Today with non conference schedules winning 10 games (not including an seccg) is just above average.

However LSU has the highest assistant coaching salary pool on the country and is paying Les the 3rd highest in the sec. But if you remove 2011 LSU has been very average over the last 7 seasons. And at times (2008, 2009, and 2014) they have been below average.

Maybe my sights are set too high, maybe I'm not realistic. But, LSU has been very good to its coaches since 2000. Has Les been a good coach in my opinion? Yes. Has he been elite? No. Is LSU paying for Elite? Yes. Do I think LsU should fire Les? No. But I don't think it's unreasonable to expect and set the bar to get what you pay for.

At LSU that's Championships. Nothing more and nothing less. Anything less is just excuses IMO.

We only disagree about firing Les, time to move along with someone else and go through the trials and tribulations of a new coach

IMO, with the way the roster looks for next year and the caliber of HS recruits for 2016, this would be a terrible time to fire Les.
