1). Miles would still have not been the coach. Carr faction was too strong and he and Miles are oil and water. AD Martin slow played Miles and his agent and had spiradic communication with them during the process. Pres. Coleman was on board with Miles somewhat but not Martin and Carr who still wielded much stroke in Schembechler hall then.

2). Hoke was not no 1 target but was ahead of Miles in AD Brandons mind and the Carr faction. The trip/convo with Miles was to placate fans when he had no intention of hiring Miles. Differing versions of the Miles dislike from UM dating back to the days on Moellers staff but that dislike is strong and has sunk him all 3 times.

3). Miles best chance was this time with Hackett in place, the results on passing on him the ither two times, and the Carr influence much less. Harbaugh is the slam dunk and Miles never had a shot with him in it. Even if he turns it down Miles will not get a serious look due to some opposition still in place. We will see if what i hear is wrong on this one. If he is hired this time, it means he made up a lot of ground and the Harbaugh turn down would be best smoothed over with him.

All of this bullshite and nothing concrete but gossip to back it up.

Prove it.
Put up or shut up.

You are exactly correct!! Doesnt speak negatively on Miles at all!! UM politics kept them from getting the "best" coach for them in my opinion each time. I think Miles would have killed it at UM and would he just what they need now to smooth things over and bridge to a new coach once he retires. I think Harbaugh really has NFL in his blood and will not stay long.

Close Family business associate on UM BOR for years. But of course you will call BS on that and call for more proof. Unfortunately i lost all the phone call recordings and transcripts from every meeting that took place during all three searches that he gave me in a tragic fire in my cattle barn. Sorry, guess you win.

You know this how? Do you have his agent's phone tapped?
You have no idea how many places might or might not have called to express interest in Miles. So shite like you spewed is totally ignorant.
But carry on if that is what it takes for you to feel like you are a member of the "in" crowd.

You're joking right? You do know that every time a team shows interest in a coach that his agent's sole purpose is to leak that information so that he can then leverage his current team for more money right? And before you go with the "Miles isn't that kind of guy" bs, he is, and he's done just that

Well if they did pass on miles it was a stupid move. The AD lost his job.

In the real world, schools and agents work in their own shadow world because neither one wants to overplay his hand. The school doesn't want to pay more than they have to and the agent wants to get as much as he can. Agents and schools operate in secret and all of these "in the know" types are merely guessing, and at worst making things up.
The truth is seldom as the rumor mills present it to be, but gullible types love to latch onto these rumors. Repeating then doesn't make them so.

I don't honestly see anyone being able to turn them around other than Harbaugh or Miles.

Ok I didn't know that you had double secret information that nobody else has and can't be cited.
Those are always the best sources aren't they?
Gotcha!

That's funny, I think you really believe what you've written. You're right, every offseason for the last ten years Miles has been approached by and received offers from other schools and the NFL but because in the real world "they keep these things secret" we never found out about it and he didn't want a raise. Got it..

Take off your clown shoes man. I never wrote that Miles had offers every year. You are being a jackass.

I know that you probably have trouble understanding a business concept higher than "May I supersize that for you?".

But in the world of big time football, the real work is done in the background between representatives of coaches and schools (or NFL teams)and not in the open. Neither of us will ever know for certain which, how many, or if any points of interest Miles has had from other schools. Just because you never have received any job offers doesn't mean that nobody else has. And just because you never get a raise, doesn't mean that nobody else ever tries to get one.

You see that is how things work on the other side of the frier.

Its Fryer you dipshit. And you did infer that teams have courted Miles but we just don't hear about it because in the real world on your side of the frier they keep that stuff quiet. Fact is that we do have a coach that is not ever seriously considered for any NFL openings or top-tier college positions and I don't mind saying that I have a problem with that in our current coach. To answer the original poster's question, Yes, Miles is absolutely overpaid given the new, old, and future salary ranges..

Okay. I was hoping you were, because the world certainly doesn't need two of you.

It is fun, though, watching you get so upset arguing with all the emoticons. I think you really are TigerintheHollow.

As for the OP, no, I don't think Miles is overpaid.

How do you know this? Because your beer buddies told you?

I don't give a shite whether you like him or not. You are entitled to your opinion no matter how misguided it may be but you are NOT entitled to your own facts. Neither you nor your any of your friends has any clue as to what may or may not have transpired between Miles, his agent and any possible outside sources. You don't. You really don't. To pretend even to yourself that you do is stupidity on the highest level.

A person is worth what someone is willing to pay him for his work. Now that is a fact. That's how it works. Basically in this, you don't matter. Really you don't. Never did never will. And it doesn't matter a shite what you think about it.

I am an original. He is the poor copy.

I'm not upset, just having fun pulling the tails on the jackasses.
And emoticons do tend to rile them up don't you think?

Nope. He's underpaid. People can try to shite on Les as much as they want but that won't change the fact that he's accumulated the best ten year record in the sec. And most of it was with Jefferson and Lee at qb. He won a championship with Flynn on a bum ankle and had lazy arse Jamarkus who was benched for
tight end Marcus Randall by lord saban before that. Mett was a fantastic recovery after losing our most promising qb prospect in 2010 (Zach Lee) who was leading 7on7s all summer. Les just gets it done without a Red Elephant club and without the he head of officiating in his back pocket and he deserves a bit more credit than he gets. Saban is really really good, but he ain't that good. Les gets after him on the field every single damn year. Some of these wannabe critics need to go pull for a&m and see how they feel when they get beat 59-0.
