I need to control the following devices:

1.) LG 60" Plasma Smart TV
2.) Contour Cable Box from Cox
3.) AppleTV
4.) Sony Soundbar w/Wireless Sub (plugged into LG Plasma via Optical Audio in).

Can you recommend me choices based on the most inexpensive, best overall value for my needs, and OT Baller?

ETA: The Smart TV function for my LG has a Wii-like remote and also allows me to use it for light keyboarding for navigation to certain movie streaming websites. This feature would need to be included in the Universal Remote. Otherwise the suggestion is essentially useless as I'd still need my TV Remote.

You mention inexpensive and I have two options for you:
Not inexpensive is the roomie remote. Works with iPad, iPhone and has a multitude of macro functions and controls AV system, Wifi thermo, wifi lights, any many smart home devices.
Inexpensive: because my wife hates techie stuff is the harmony remote. Can be programmed via computer and usb hookup for devices based upon model/brand, but can be limited in device capability. It's got an led readout and I utilize a remote eye sensor since all my devices are within a cabinet. SAMs club sells a $69 one.

This. They're generally priced according to how many devices they can control. Logitech has probably the most complete database of device model numbers out there, including even things like 3-way switches.

I don't have any of their current models in use, but I've had bad experiences with earlier ones, notably the 670 which has a defect in the LED screen. My best experience has been with the Model 880 which comes with a rechargeable battery. It's no longer made but you can still pick one up on e-bay for much less than what the latest models sell for.

I have a Logitech Harmony 700 in the box that I will sell for $50. Bought it for my dad a while back and he never really cared for it.
