Tahoe has a great variety, but doesn't compare in quality of snow to other places

Any tips on making the trip cheaper? I have all my clothing. Bibs, jacket, gloves, hat, goggles

Just wondering if there are any tips to making the trip a little cheaper. How much more convenient is ski in/ski out.

I've been to Tahoe/Heavenly and it is great. Had a lot of fun their.

The casinos nearby is a big plus.

I'm going to Breckenridge at the end of the month. Any advice there would be great.

stayed at a ski in/ski out at breck and loved it. We had the hot tub on the slope. We had good time at the resort and on the mountain but there isn't must in the town to do. The skiing is fun though.

Costco has skilift packages for discount prices but only to certain places . We usually go to Deer valley , Canyons or Park city . Have tried a lot of other places and we love the Salt Lake city area .

Only option is in the Rockies in my opinion, been in the Appalachians, Upper Michigan, NE, they all don't compare

Colorado>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> North Carolina>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tennessee.

Breckenridge is great for beginners because it has that big slow chairlift. Getting on and off the skilift and stopping are the hardest think for new skiers to do.

Whistler is so hard to get to. I like Utah. I can leave NOLA on an early flight and Ski that afternoon at Brighton. There is also a 7ish flight so you can ski the day you leave

Convenience wise, it's awesome. I love not having to take your skis off, carry them for the 10 or 15 min to the car at most slopes then drive back to the hotel everyday. Price wise, they're usually much more expensive. So it's all about what you prefer.

All ski towns have shuttles running around town. I would prefer to save the money and take a 5-10 minute shuttle ride to and from the resort, but that's just me

What kind of experience are you looking for? You can usually find smaller ski areas that receive less recognition that are less expensive and have shorter lift lines.

Never skied Tahoe but I hear it's awesome. Might want to check snow levels due to the drought out there.

They've had quite a bit of snow in the Sierra this year.

If you are comfortable driving in the snow rent an SUV, don't take those shuttles (Breck, Frisco, Vail area) if that is where you go. They suck.

My first time was in Tahoe and it was pretty hard to master it, I'm not going to lie.

Good to hear about Breck. I haven't been skiing in 6-7 years so its going to take some getting used to again.

I've only been 2-3 times (snowboard) but last week went to Vail and Breck. I found Breck much easier. Breck feels more like a ski town too to me.

FALSE

Alaska Air has a daily Non-Stop to/from MSY-SEA, so this is no longer true.

MSY-SEA (4 hours non-stop)
SEA-YVR (Vancouver) 40 minute commuter plane
Rental Car or Van from YVR to Whistler (2 hour drive, great road now)

PROFIT

Colorado and Utah reorts are nice too, direct flights from MSY to SLC and DIA

That's a lot more difficult to get to than say, Breckenridge or Park City.

But not THAT much more difficult than Tahoe, which can kind of be a pain in the arse.
