Normal? I'm always normal, I only asked a question.

WTF does that even mean?
Can you put that in terms of post-1950s understanding of DNA?

I almost included a disclaimer with that post acknowledging it as a joke but didn't think it would be necessary.

No, I want to know why a little bit of black makes one black, but a little bit of white doesn't make one white.
Because that's been the White man's rule since 1776, and maybe even before that.

It's guys like you who make this board nearly unbearable. Not because you are wrong. But because you argue EVERY frickING TEDIOUS POINT. You make points that the rest of us readily understand as if you were solving the fricking Jimmy Hoffa mystery. Just stop being so fricking obstinate. frick.

1776? Really?

What does science have to do with any of this? The one-drop rule was based on racism, not science.

I'm German/German/Irish/English . My wife is Vietnamese. When my daughter was born she had a genetic marker for Alpha Thalassemia 1. We found out the blood disease occurs like overwhelmingly in SE Asians AND MAYBE LIKE 3% people of Middle Eastern descent. Damn Mrs Pimp, your genes suck!
Alpha thalassemia minor can exist in two forms:
alpha-thal-1 (aa/--), associated with Asians, involves cis deletion of both alpha genes on the same chromosome;
So we got the blood work done and against all statistical odds it was me. Da Joos apparently! Great Gramps was a Rabbi in Germany. Darn Joos! Usurping my genes!
Les Miles has lost control of Pimp's genes!

fixt
So people wonder why the 18% of our population which is seen as a genetic pollutant has a problem with racism in this country?

One percent? I mean, not for nothing, but if you're 1% of anything, that's awfully down the food chain of the family tree.
Hell, that's the equivalent of GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT grandparent who is a bit over 60% black.
Why wouldn't such a person identify themselves as "white"?

quote:Not for nothing but why exactly would we encourage people TODAY to go by a racist rule created by TOTALLY DIFFERENT people some time before today? I'm not obligated by my whiteness to maintain a stupid racist rule just because some idiot did so 100 year ago. Moreover, this sort of seems to be a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" moment.
Because that's been the White man's rule since 1776, and maybe even before that.
If a white person came in here calling someone black due to the 1 drop rule, you'd call him a racist and yet, you, you want to use the rule yourself? How odd.

Does that mean we can stop shifting schools around to get more whites in black schools? We are all black like Obama!

I think this has a lot to do with ex-slaves mixing with the american Indians.
Neither culture was accepted by the white culture so they mixed, lived and had children together due to being considered outcast by the majority. My grandmother is half Indian, I don't remember the tribe but it was one of the local tribes from north Louisiana area. Like some said, I can't believe its not higher then that especially those that claim to have american Indian in their blood. Also in St. James Parish, I'm sure there's others, there was an all white male college and those boys did so much fricking with the black females that you can still see the results of it these days. Lotta Jimmy graham looking folk around here. I do gotta say though, those damn mulatto girls are almost always hot. So who wouldn't want to have the secks with them.
