Just because a loony lefty moron like you calls it "racist pandering", it doesn't mean it is actually "racist pandering".

It's just par for your loony lefty moron course to say that.

Why do you care so strongly about this. Clearly, you are the only person on this thread who cares so much. You, just like Mr. Limbaugh you have some serious issues

A Bond who is a gender-curious biracial who has an internal dialogue about gun control every time he pulls his walther would be a serious box office draw.

They should drop the gun and instead have Bond hand out "I'm Ok, you're Ok" cards.

Yet that's exactly what you called it without actually using those words.

you literally said you would pass judgment solely on the race or sex of the actor playing the character

how is that not the definition of racism?

Can't wait to see the linguistic waltz he does to get around this.

Give me a logical reason why James Bond should be black and I'll change my mind.
Because the people who make the movie think he is the best at performing he role as visioned by the producer and director. Not even addressing his race. They think he is the BEST ACTOR for the role. That is as logical as it gets.

Now, go ahead and tell us how you know more about their movie than they do. And please don't waste out time telling us that they are doing it for other reasons.

Please solely address my first paragraph.

Dude, it's a company. All they give a shite about is making money and to do that, appeal to the broadest audience as possible.

I'm sure they'll promote social change in order to lose money, right?

Dude, wise up.

Why do you think actresses and minority actors have been bitching for years that the movie companies need to create more women and minority roles in their movies?

I'll give you a hint.

It's not so the movie will make more money.

And as liberal as hollywood seems to be, there are still movies where the man is the hero, violence is everywhere and women are viewed as sex symbols.

It's about the money. I'm 100% positive there's not one executive out there who will shoot out a $100 million dollar movie just to promote social change knowing it will make less money.

What's your definition of "racism"?

My definition of "racism" is the belief that one's race is superior to every other race.

Merely being opposed to changing the race of an iconic fictional white male character in a movie to a black man is not "racism" by my definition of "racism".

My definition of racism is making a value judgment solely on account of one's race or sex (for sexism). Like I said, not all racism or sexism is inherently bad, but what you said is my definition of racism.

You definition sounds a bit different than mine, though

Generally true. You can make a racial statement without it being racist. I didn't take what you said as racist even though it was racial as hell, and I disagreed with it. At least the statements I read.

Two posts after mine. Are you going to tell us how the position isn't logical or can we accept your silence as tacit admission that there exists the possibility of a logical reason?

Do you mean like in the James Bond movies?

No, but they will do it if they think they won't make less money.

BTW. I just heard on a local SF TV news program that the African American "black lives matter" protesters are now saying that white people who support them should not wear "I can't breathe" T-shirts.

What racist idiots!!!

What do you mean by "racial as hell".

How can anyone talk about a subject involving the black and white races without it being "racial as hell"?

I have a computer that's like me. It's old and slow.

Pick a number then wait.

I'm responding to a lot of different people's posts.

My definition of racism is the dictionary definition of "racism".

1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
