USPS is crap. And they are lazy assholes. I've had three messed up deliveries from all my uses with Amazon. Each by usps. And not getting lost, they complain that I wasn't home when I was and that the package was overweight. A box of fricking diapers. Screw usps. Can't wait till they get privatized. I'd love for Amazon to give a report on who gets the most complaints.

Fedex and UPS pay a hell of a lot more for the infrastructure than the USPS.

So in other words, a total piece of crap survey with NO data from UPS or FedEX?

What a useless publication, Consumer Reports.

They probably are in a position now where they are going to have to kiss the politicians and unions asses on this kind of stuff.

He hell it does. UPS handed over a package of mine to USPS for Saturday delivery just a couple of weeks ago and the package fell off the face of the Earth never to be seen again.

Tried to call them and never even got on the phone with anyone. Just sat on hold for half an hour.

Had to just go talk to Amazon.

I hate the USPS.

I can't express to you enough how God awful this is. For every 1000 packages 130 are late. While not reported in the survey FedEx is usually at 97-98% & UPS 98-99%. FedEx does have a different measurement for late so its always lower.

I avoid buying things online if I'm told that USPS will be delivering. I will intentionally seek out those who use UPS (my personal favorite over FedEx). USPS is terrible.

USPS sucks balls. I just had my meds shipped from Monroe La pharmacy to Goleta Ca. 2 day delivery took five days. I have never had any luck using USPS.

I am very upset with Amazon for shipping all of my Christmas presents via USPS. It has been a giant cluster frick and looks like several presents that I ordered won't be here on time. The USPS has lost three of about 20 of my orders this season.

bullshite. All my packages from UPS and FedEx were delivered within 3 days. I'm still waiting for my only package delivered by USPS 8 days later and they have no idea where it's at

Let's see: UPS and FedEx say they are going to deliver a package in 2 days and make it happen. USPS says they will deliver in 2 days and actually take 5 days.

first cost is not really a fair comparison. You can't really compare a government corporation to a private corporation. The government can pull from other more successful things to uphold not as good things, it can even run up a debt because it is the one controlling the flow of money. So USPS can afford to pay bellow cost because the government upholds them. (I'm pretty sure the USPS runs up lots of debt) If UPS or fedex runs bellow cost they will go out of business or need the help of the government to stay afloat.

on reliability they said this

quote:

For the 2013 holiday season, the countless packages didn’t arrive on time because of poor weather conditions; this situation was made worse by a crush of shoppers sending gifts late. Still, given the steep prices for overnight and second-day service, on-time delivery is critical. UPS and FedEx wouldn't tell us about their track record, which hurt their score. The USPS says 87.5 percent of package deliveries were made on time in 2013. If FedEx and UPS did better, wouldn’t they want to crow about it?

They engaged in a logical fancily here which destroys their argument and makes their rating unreliable. Just because someone keeps things silent doesn't mean it is the bad things. Just because FedEx and UPS don't release the reliability rating doesn't mean they are necessarily worse than USPS. This is what essentially made the difference. Other than convenience which is well true. Other than the fact go to a UPS or FedEx shipping center and I bet you a line of 10 people would move through that line quicker than at USPS. It's amazing how slowly USPS workers move.

Looks like UPS pays a pretty high amount of taxes each year for those things. LINK

they sometimes do fedex and I have started to get things via USPS.

the only things I haven't received on time, are because of a hurricane and because I wasn't there to receive it and they couldn't leave it at the door.
