My favorite part of this entire thread. All of those studs on offense......Why in the blue hell is this guy getting a single touch?

Historic coaching too.

aTm scored 42 points against Bama, Auburn scored 34 points on them and the Big 12 Princess (OU) scored 45 on them. We scored 17. Their offenses must've been super-duper historic. We scored 17 on UF. Georgia Southern scored 26 on them with zero passing yards for the game. We scored 24 on Ole Miss. Vandy scored 35 on them. We needed AJ to win the Arkansas game at home. Our offense was great at times last year (UGA, State, aTm, etc.) and not very good at other times.

This!!!! I can only imagine how great that offense would have been under Sumlin, Saban, Gus, Jimbo, and Lane. The run pass ratio last year was 60/40. With offensive minded coaches with that talent it would have been 40/60. Also, let's not forget that auburn's QB was a converted Juco DB and lit Bama up two years in a row.

it was historic relative to past LSU offenses. Nothing historic relative to the rest of the SEC about an offense that finishes 6th in the SEC in total offense. Oh my, good lord what could have been with a truly good offense coordinator. Another wasted year.

We dont run a HU. Our totals wil always be lower than teams that do. Lsu was 12 the in the country in yards per play. But was 105th i plays ran.THATS WHY WE WERE RANKED 6TH IN THE SEC. That reason only

3000 yards passing is quite pedestrian in today's college game, and when only two of our receivers caught 2/3rds of that we just might have a good indication of a lack of complexity, imagination, and involvement by other players.

bullshite. METT WAS 260 YARDS AWAY FROM SETTING THE LSU SINGLE SEASON PASSING RECORD. And there was no need to look to his 3rd receiver when he has 2 nfl studs at wr.

Ive explained this to you , literally , 10 times. We were ranked 6th because of plays ran.

Truly good like our qb almost THROWING for more yards than any lsu qb, EVER and our rb setting the single season sec ypc record? BECAUSE THATS WHAT HAPPENED.

What I don't understand about all of these "Amazing Offense" topics is the fact that we were 6th or 7th in the SEC offensively. Instead of people pointing to the defense (which was ranked higher nationally and in the SEC than the offense), why don't we start discussing why the offense wasn't even more productive. If you really think about it, they were historic because they relied on so few players. Those individuals were great, but as a team, we were not a top tier offense with all of that talent.

also they have been historic compared to PAST LSU offenses only, which all offenses today look good compared to past years. When compared to current modern offenses they finished middle of the pack.

It's like the pumper narrative has become that the 2013 offense was the GOAT and the defense was terrible.

When did the narrative of the defense not being terrible start?

Where did LSU O rank in the SEC in 2013? Where did the D rank in SEC in 2013?

Boxcar is correct. The O great by LSU standards and the D was bad by LSU standards but it's all relative.

People that want to just hang all the blame on the defense aren't being realistic. Mett melted against OM and the whole team quit against Bama.
