I believe Plex is probably a favorite among most people, but does anybody have any experience with Media Browser?

I'm considering going the route of Media Browser on my HTPC, but I was curious if anyone had any personal experience with it.

Media Browser is good. It default installs to your main drive, so if you want it elsewhere, you'll have to change some registry settings. That's my only annoyance. If you're setting it on your main drive, you'll probably like it.

I've been reading a lot about Kooraroo and will probably give it a whirl soon.

Plex does everything I need so I haven't looked at anything else.

I'll be streaming both local and over the internet. Clients will be a mix of roku and NUCs(probably running XBMC).

I'd prefer the software itself be installed on the same drive as my OS, but all of my media will be on a NAS.

When you say over the internet, do you mean you want to access your media remotely? I haven't done this with Plex yet, so can't comment. As far as local, I've had no issues with it on Chromecast and Roku. For FireTV Stick, the app sucks. I use the PleXBMC addon for that one and it works much better. I have all my media on the NAS and Plex runs on my PC.

My setup: (all free software)

I run universal media server on my PC. I had to set up a DNS site to tie my IP router address to. Its simple with freedns. Follow their instructions and it should only take 30 mins or so. You would need to open ports on your router to allow outside access.
I have android phones and tablets, so I use UPnPlay to access my media.

I got Plex for free from amazon, but haven't had a chance to set it up and try it remotely.

Side note: if you use all PC's windows media player can be used to stream media anywhere. I don't use it, but have tried it and it worked well.
