Not really. The guy from BYU didn't start playing football until he was in college. No athlete could ever make it in any soccer league if that was the case.
Soccer is the best sport for young kids to play. Coordination and spatial awareness are the keys to any sport. In soccer they are paramount.

It's kinf of a pointless article. But it's pretty cool that big time players from other sports are getting more and more into soccer I guess.
