So? Completely irrelevant.
No. No.
Not irrelevant at all. No more irrelevant than a neighbor allowing his St.Benard to take a daily dump on your front walk way because he's jealous of your landscape. As with the display, it is designed to spoil a space, not celebrate something.

It does make one feel sad in a way for those placing it. Kind of says if they can't enjoy the Christmas season, then by damn their hoping no one else can either. The display exacts no pleasure for those placing it, other than knowledge that it might lessen someone else's happiness.

Yet Atheists here are pleased.

Not at all. I'd bet the family they'd shake their head at this business with the rest of us.

You can't be an atheist and also worship Satan.

The point is, she's full of shite and just wants to frick with people.

I'd have more respect for a real Satanist.

This is what I don't understand about atheist. If you believe in nothing then why are you bothered with others religious rituals? I don't believe in Santa Clause but you don't see me ripping down my neighbors Xmas lights.

What percentage of atheists do you think erect satanic monuments?

This is correct. The bible calls satan," the god of this world." He is a deity to some and if you worship him, you are no atheist.

I could give two shits about your percentages. This one did. It never fails with atheists, they have to crap on someone else's beliefs. If you don't believe in anything why do you care

lol no it's not. I know plenty of non-Mexican Americans who celebrate Cinco de Mayo and non-Irish Americans who celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

edit: Some holidays take on meaning besides their original meaning. Many Christmas traditions actually come from concurrent non-Christian holidays that were simply adopted by those who celebrated Christmas.

Today, Christmas is as much a cultural holiday as it is a religious holiday.

It's weird how you point out that you know this is ONE person, yet you immediately try to take the actions of that individual and apply them to an entire group. Strong stereotypes bro

Atheists can't help themselves. They have to crap on others. Why, if you really believe in nothing why bother?

This. The display is just plain dumb. Immature. And accomplishes nothing for freedom of expression.

ETA: Merry Christmas, NC

ETAII: I just clicked the link in the OP, and I'd just like to say that Jex and her group are certainly an attractive bunch.

Some of my Christian friends and family would probably get bent out of shape over this. I view it for what it is. Someone with a sad pathetic life that is looking for her 15 minutes of fame. Ignore her and her stunt and she will receive zero satisfaction and slink away frustrated.

I think it's great. It clearly jars people to find that something other than a major abrahamic religion can occupy public space.

Now if we could just grow a set big enough to piss off the Muslims too, we'd be really rustling jimmies.

You're taking the stance that this is the only such instance of attention whores placing ridiculous monuments in public places? What about the idiots with the Game of Thrones monument?

These people do not deserve respect or acknowledgement. Put up something you actually believe in or gtfo.

Yeah.

I'm atheist and I have compassion for views that differ from mine on religion, from satanism, from...........well, the point is, she seems a whole lot more ANTI one particular thing than anything else.

She's kinda in the selective tolerance camp.
