You guys dont forget Frank Herron and Deandre Clark. Both guys should play a good bit.

This is a good thing, we have so much talent people are arguing who will start.

Did hunter announce he was staying?

Lac can't get penetration and plays with a high pad level. He's a good at plugging his gap, but that's about it. Godchaux is much better at getting into the backfield. Not only that, but Godchaux was a former 260 pound high school DE who was thrust into the DT spot as a true freshman.
I don't know how you can't say Godchaux is much better at getting into the backfield, when he has less sacks, and less tackle for loss. It may be true, but it hasn't yielded any results.
It is great that he is playing this well for a freshmen, but being good for your age, doesn't get you over people are just better.
I wouldn't sleep on Lacouture.

Talk on Hunter if he's not a first rounder then its 70 to 30 he Stays
Posted on 12/21/14 at 4:15 pm to vjm41
He will get drafted by his freak athleticism which can't be shown off til the NFL combine. He won't know what he is worth til then.
Without a combine he's not even a top 3 round guy

That should bode well for him staying. Isn't the deadline to declare months before the combine/pro days?

Scouts love him as a second day guy. He might not have the pass rushing ability yet but he lives in the backfield and swats a lot of passes down. Like a lot.

Jeez, how deep is our secondary going to be with all of the incoming guys????

I think Tolliver will beat out either CB to start next year. He will be our best CB/DB. I know we have a heavy rotation for DB's which is great, but Tolliver is just that good.
Hunter may not go to the NFL regardless. If they say late first round, that doesn't ensure him anything. Hearing him speak he seems like the type of guy who wants to finish school get the degree, more experience physically and mentally, more body development(And I don't mean speed or muscles, I mean flexibility). So many players leave early and then get hurt or have problems because of the rigors of the NFL. They pull muscles, try to impress and end up getting hurt. If you get hurt and its bad, if you stay the 4 years in college and get your degree you can be some type of assistant to a Position Coach i.e.(LB's, RB's, DE's, etc...) or you could go to broadcasting, or whatever. The degree of your choice gives your flexibility in your life and the 4 years will prepare you body even more flexibility wise or whatever. It's all upside.
I know a lot of people say what if you get hurt, and they say this with a straight face. You are playing football, you could get hurt during practice, walking out the door, driving your car, etc... You can't go through life on what if... That doesn't mean you don't take precautions and be prepared, but damn I am tired of hearing the what if he gets hurt BS.

Future 1st rounders: Tre White, Adams, Mills, (possibly Rashard Robinson if he can act right and use better technique)
Guys that have first round talent and might put it together: Ed Paris, Kevin Toliver, Cutrer.
Add in guys like Ricky Jefferson, Voorhies, Battle, Thompson, And Thomas and the DBs are SCARY next year.

Tre White is a Top 5 corner in the country. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Now all LSU needs is a pass rush.

Dammit, boat. I can't do anything. Promote me to leader.

Chad Jones and Demetryius Byrd agree with this.

I don't understand what leads people to believe that Valentine will simply overtake other players who have actually played in games. Not saying that he won't be a big plus on the D-line at some point, but expecting him to be the starter game one is ridiculous.

Pretty much all insiders have said he's the most talented DT on the roster
