Spot on. There are many much more important issues, but the higher ups want to use blacks as a tool to introduce major change and much worse outcomes. "Fundamental change! Forward!"

Explain to me how you could advance in your career in the early 60s when - if you were black - where you could get a lunch with your boss that would serve all races.

Also I'm sorry your family was trashy. Why didn't they work harder so you weren't poor?
Were they lazy?

Those days are over. How is this germane to today's society?

Hell, I can't walk up to Augusta National today and get in. A lot of places are beyond my means.

Right here in Benton there is a golf course named Palmetto. It's by far the closest location to me. But I can't play there because they refuse to go 'semi-private'. I told them "I'll pay 50 bucks a round and play at least 4 rounds a year. And so will dozens of other people up here who don't want to be full members."

They said No. They didn't want our kind on their course. Well, they just announced that the course is closing permanently due to financial problems. Free market forces are a wonderful thing.

We were talking about the 60s being an awesome time for blacks

Keep up, fella.

I'm retired. In my 45 years of employment I never had lunch with my boss. Why is that necessary?

No. It was something called The Great Depression. My dad chose to drop out of school and go to work in the oil fields as a roughneck to help support his 7 brothers and sisters. In retrospect he admitted that it was a bad long term decision. But thanks for asking.

OK, cool. Thanks for clarifying. That's a good method to generate discussion.

affluent whites are struggling and will continue to struggle with the erosion of their social, political, and economic power. Said that explains all the anger among whites about the protests, etc.

Affluent whites are fine, its low end whites that are angry. This board provides an excellent example of that condition every single day.

I don't see the board members here as low end whites. I'd describe them as mostly middle class.

Do most people get their income from working a job or investments?
Do most people own their business or have inter-generational wealth?

Most of this board is working class. Not middle class

But maybe there is something to this whole "white people losing their grip" thing. Maybe I am, we whites are, just coming to terms with the fact that being white isn't going to be as awesome as it used to be. What do you think?

I think a lot of white people are starting to wake up to the Democrat Party's War On Whites.

Look, to completely ignore history as if it has no bearing on today's society is not right.

There is a reason their community has the problems they do. You can come up with your own conclusions as to what contributed to their status today.

But to act like they just chose to have the problems they do and say it's their fault they haven't been able to correct the problems is wrong.

A family can be both working class and middle class at the same time.

How many decades must the past be used as an excuse before it can be discarded, or is it indefinite?
