I actually may. Supposedly they have the best beaches. Plus, afro-Cuban music is the shite and I wan't to see their 1950s car parades.

First thing my boss asked this morning is how much hydrocarbon is buried on that island. We recycle materials produced with hydrocarbons.

I want to see all of the Cuban baseball players in the mlb.
I want the fricking cigars to rain from the fricking sky.
I want the people that want to travel from to/from Cuba to be able to do it.

I have no desire to visit.

I've been to Gitmo and the scenery was amazing. There is no way to leave that base, but I kept thinking how cool it would be to go out and see the real Cuba.

ETA aside from the banana rats and fricking iguanas

Wouldn't mind taking a trip down. Know many divers that have gone there over the years. That is definitely a plus to the embargo...pristine(ish) reefs. Carnival will be building a dock ASAP.

we have a friend who went last year and said it was awesome but places were closed to tourists and you didn't have freedom of movement.

its on my list before the cruise ships ruin it.

I want to go as soon as it is totally open to Americans. One of my Spanish Ancestors was a government official there in the early 1800's. I want to go to their archives.

It always amazed me that we have a base in a country that we have no relations with.

Overrated, IMHO.

Cubans are a forbidden fruit thing. I've had Dominicans that were just as good if not better.

I've been to Cuba. Granted it was a few years back. Cuban cigars are way over rated. Cuba itself is a tropical landfill. You can pick any number of other Carib destinations that are way better.

Yeah that sounds awesome.
Why not just visit Detroit. You would still have some rights guaranteed.

We used to have relations with cuba, and we pay them $4085 a year for that land

they havent accepted payment since 1959, the lease can only be terminated mutually.

I looked this up.

The base is pretty shite but they do with it what they can. There's a mcdonalds and pizza hut, a bowling alley, even an Irish pub. The wifi sucks and you have to like call in to get on it.

You can technically get there now, you just have to fly through an intermediary country and don't get your passport stamped in Cuba or youre fricked

Indeed I don't want to see the place after (if) it gets free elections, a free press, the right to openly demonstrate against the government, a higher standard of living, free access to the internet and Starbucks.

Since Cuba conquered malaria, you've got that going for ya. Does it ever enter you mind that those people living in Cuba have been robbed of riches and wealth because of the system they live in?

The best possible outcome for a Cuban man providing for his family would be for Cuba to become Americanized.

Sorry I can upvote only once.

If anyone who's seen the 30-on-30 show on the Hernandez brothers trying to defect, you have to realize how bad that system is.
