The server that got beat with beer mugs...WTF. I would be fighting, not to mention there's a lot of heavy metal things to swing at someone in the kitchen. Of course he probably didn't fight back because black people are pretty untouchable right now.

I run yachts for a living, at times. When you pull into a port after driving for 24 hours or so, you're hungry and want to get off the boat, sit down and eat a meal. I don't need some a-hole bitching at me because they don't want to work. I tip them very well (not really me, owner of the vessel does) and leave as fast as I can.
I've dated servers when I was younger and totally understand what goes on behind the counter/bar. But, that shite comes with the job, like mine not being able to eat until almost 10 because I'm working too.

Hey, I provide people with a service everyday I work. This isn't something new to the western world. Sometimes I have to work late, but I don't take it out on my clients while serving them. And, I damn sure wouldn't expect gratuity for treating them like shite, but I still tip frustrated servers. Maybe they should find a job they enjoy more and are locked into exact hours of work.
Basically, I'm very polite and act like and an adult and a professional whether I'm serving or being served. Life, kids.

I don't think the waiter should be totally punished for bad or cold food but they are the ones who interact with the customers, and outside of a manager being called over, are the face of the restaurant. We always tio the waitress or waiter fully on what the ticket would be at 20%.
But I don't know that you can blame people always for low tipping when their food and experience wasn't great.

Well if you don't understand the sentiment in todays society with current media you are foolish. I honestly had the conversation just yesterday that I would be much more willing to shoot a white methhead thief in my yard than I would a black thief. FTR I live in TX where the lethal force is legal for the protection of life and property.
