I'm guessing her frustration had more to do with her having to wait and arriving at the counter herself before they opened a second register. I can sympathize, because this pisses me off all the time.

You might have a reading comprehension problem in this instance? I was behind them, once they finally made their way to the open register the second was opened. I stepped up the the second because I was next after them.
