has a 50% on RT right now

everyone pretty much said she messed this up and didnt do it justice

how the F can you mess up that book? it had SO much potential.

would have been much better as a 8-10 part BOB style miniseries on HBO. that story is very long and a 2 hour movie doesnt do it justice.

So you're bashing a movie you haven't even seen?

Angelina and Brad hate war veterans.

Et tu, Carson? I've maintained all along that my expectations are not high for this movie, but I'm still not going to dismiss it until after I've seen it.

Think you answered your own question.

Cursing out a director before you even see their work. Awesome.

I'll wait for audience reaction.

The movie may very well suck, but if there is a subject matter I don't really trust film critics' objectivity on, it's an American military hero story where the protagonist becomes a born again Christian.

I can see this movie going overboard with the pro Murica propaganda and getting kind of cheesy.

I heard they cut out the part about Christianity. Haven't seen it so I could be wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised either.

Saw this last week. I said in the other thread but I'll say it again. It's a good movie. It's not great. It's not as good as the book.

The movie did as good a job as possible of making that extraordinary story into a 2 hour movie. The problem is that it should have been a 10 part miniseries. All the highlights of his story are heartbreaking and harsh. Obviously the movie has to include all of these grim events, so the movie is sad as shite. But they did make the last few shots/credits lighter and heartwarming.

Thought lead actor played the part well and didn't overact it like trailer makes it look. Garret Hedlund should have had more lines/bigger role.

Arguably the best book I've ever read. I agree that it should have been a miniseries.

People are freaking out about this, but I wasn't a huge fan of that part anyway. If they have to cut stuff, that is near the top of the list for me (and I"m a Christian - Catholic, specifically).

I was thinking whenever I read the book that I wish Clint Eastwood would've directed Unbroken.

Should be an interesting film. I'm always a bit skeptical about films that center around recent events.

The best war film I've seen this year was "Fury".

That would have been really good. Eastwood makes good war movies.

I figured they would, but I thought they'd probably throw in some overtures to it.
