With cuba and the us putting their differences aside and opening up travel to and from cuba, what will this do for the billfish industry. Think about waters that have been essentially unfished for the past 60 years. Would be incredible to go down there. I could see lodges and resorts taking over soon

I doubt that they have been un fished. They may have not been pounded like ours but I am sure people from other places have gone there to fish. I could be wrong though.

My buddy santiago has fished cuba.

But seriously I know some people that have fished there, think they have an Ernest Hemmingway memorial tournament or something like that. Will definitely be much more accessible to fishing now to people with the money to do it though.

Read that earlier when I heard the news, I honestly think it'd be sad to cover the place in 5 star lodges/hotels

Have been there. There are some lakes with incredible bass, or so I hear.

Cuba will be a fishermans wonderland. They couldn't even trap lobsters.

I've thought about this some. It'd def be cool to go do. But i bet it's been fished a lot. We almost made the run from Isla mujeres but boat capt thought better of it.
