The "Uverse" is not running to its standard in my area (uptown NOLA) and I'm still paying for the same service.

I regularly get 4-5 MPHS Download and .55-1 Upload (terrible)

Wtf am I paying for and when will they upgrade their service offerings?

Any ATT employees on here?

It's part of my bundle and its making me want to switch.

My phone data moves much faster.

I have Uverse in BR and mine's fine. Have you called in a trouble? Have you done any real troubleshooting, or are you just throwing up your hands and saying "welp, uverse sucks!"?

You are probably on the grid of the real "uverse service"

People in neighborhoods outside of the grid should get Free Internet it sucks so bad.

What is your speed test?

I have called several times and had my router replaced....its simply the signal. Thats what they told me. That my street does not have the real service.

Thats a typical look for me.

What area do you live in?

Why are we PAYING for this?!? They are getting blown out of the water by everyone EVEN Charter!

I live in an apartment complex and my speed tests are fine. I 'm at work so I can't get you a speed test right now, but I usually get about 20mbps down, 8-10 up. I have the Max Plus package, so I pay for 18 but get a little more on the download tests.

Ok. sorry for the assumption, but your OP didn't include any sort of calls or what AT&T has said about it, and I've met lots of people that don't call their provider or anything and just assume that's all they can get.

I've got the maximum package for my area. 6 Which costs me around 55 bucks. I would pay up to 75 bucks for 60

I'm at my office in Westlake. We've had ATT here 5x over the past month and basically they're telling us there is nothing they can do short of building a node closer to us. They're the only wired internet we can get at our location. There are at least 50 small business in the immediate area, and we have Phillips and Axiall right here too. So it's not like we're the only ones that use the internet around here.

BR must be the Mecca for Uverse, because everyone I know who has it there has had great service. Zero complaints.

I live north of ATL. Everyone in my neighborhood who has it says the same thing....it's flaky with unexplained outages and the speed is never consistent anymore. It's just getting worse and worse here.

I'm under contract until March, then I'm going to switch to Charter. FML, I'm going back to Charter

I'm berryhill, btw.

Sounds like it'd be profitable for them to do just that, then. That's a lot of businesses to lose if someone else gives them an option.

I have Uverse and live Uptown. I think I pay for the 2nd highest service and comes in around 5MPHS downloan. I'll check back and report after work.

I've not heard when ATT intends to upgrade their standard speeds.

Not sure exactly where you live, but I'm near the universities. I'm shocked we don't have more competitive speeds considering two universites are in walking distance.

Is that your wired or wireless speeds? The gateways are known for having shitty WiFi. I pay for 18 and get about 20 wired and about 15 over WiFi close to the gateway. Mandeville FYI.

I build Uverse sites for AT&T and it is CRAP.
They run fiber up to the Uverse cabinet but use the ancient cat3 cable to get the signal to your house. I don't have it in my area but at my mother's house the cable in the neighborhood is anywhere from 20-40 years old, much of which is air core from the 70s. No matter what speed they offer you, there is only so much bandwidth you can push through that crap.
