Chryst is at Wisconsin interviewing so I guess Pitt is covering their back door.

Someone else mentioned him in another thread a few days ago about possible candidates for the Pitt job.
I think he's a d-bag, but Schiano would be a great hire for them. He's made no bones about the fact that he's desperate to get another HC gig, and he's shown he'll stay at a lower tier program for a decade. He's exactly what Pitt needs -- a proven head coach with deep recruiting ties to the northeast and upper mid-Atlantic area who'll come in and give them stability.
They're about to hire their 4th head coach since 2010, so it's imperative they get this one right from a long term viability standpoint.

Agree with everything you said. Schiano would be a great hire for Pitt. Pitt is a sleeping giant type program. Schiano could have them on track quickly.

Seems to me he could almost do a little better than Pitt. He won at Rutgers, for God's sake. I figured he would be the guy that Michigan ended up with after they struck out with Harbaugh and Miles.

I hope Pitt gets it right. I hate Schiano, but he might be a pretty solid fit.
Pitt has a storied history and I've always kind of liked them as a program. Ditka, Marino, Dorsett, Rickey Jackson, Curtis Martin amongst others all went to Pitt. They have at least 6 NFL HOF'ers that I can think of.
