TD is about 90% conservative, by my estimate, yet Australia and NZ are always at the top of these lists. Both countries are rabid socialists by OT standards. National healthcare, strict gun control, the whole 9 yards.

You always say this, but what other first-rate countries are not left of the U.S. on the political spectrum? It's not the "gotcha" that you seem to think it is... I've been a lot of places, and the U.S. is number one for me. If I had to move to another country, I'm probably just going to have to deal with stricter gun control, more taxes, etc.

By the standards of the US, or TexArkLaHoma, or Tigerdroppings? Yeah. But by Scandinavian standards? Nah. And they speak English, are clean, and have good economies. Those facts are playing big in people's minds.

It's usually said in the context of "this country's fricked," I'm moving somewhere else." And that somewhere else is further along the line of whatever's bugging them about the US.
