my problem or situation is that if I need/want something I just buy it. For my birthday my wife got me a box of Titleist and I was very appreciative. I enjoy surprises - even the small ones.
I guess the only thing I could add would be the footjoy DNA's - but they are about $190 per pair. I have a hard time spending that much on a pair of shoes.

I had those.

Another poster here told me to grab them when I got back in to golf, and they were good for just that.
Keep them or give'em to a friend.

I'm watching a pair on eBay, brand new for $130, free shipping

Play at 16. Irons are my strength, would score a lot lower if i could get off the tee consistently and putt.

So it driving and putting are your weak spots. Shouldn't you be working at those instead of irons? Jus saying.

I've been putting in mad work on driving and putting. I just don't need updated equipment in those areas.

Irons are over 6 years old. Driver is about 2.

Had the ap1's for awhile then sold and upgraded to ap2's after taking a lot of lessons to get my swing back. Honestly before spending all that money on a set of ap2's, which I have and love them, I would go and spend that money on lessons and get your driver and putting problems handled first. I still struggle off the tee sometimes and it destroys my round. When I'm hitting it good I actually score decent. Now you could get yourself a nice gently used set of irons then you have enough money to go around for lessons and clubs. After playing a couple of rounds you wouldnt even be able to tell the difference. Win win all around.

It takes a lot for me to say this, but no new equipment would help my golf game right now. Just a few lessons.

That and playing more than 2-3 times a month

I'm not in the market for irons but the way I see it. You can buy Titleist irons used. Go get fitted or use Discount Dan's and get a discount, no tax and free freight.

this was my initial thought. They have some great prices on ebay.

My problem is, i want to go spend time at Edwin Watts, hit several brands and get fitted. I'd feel like a dick leaving with all that info to buy online.

I think that you pay for a fitting unless you buy.
