so much of this depends on your age, personally:
Billy Cannon - redemption is always a good tale
Huey Long and LSU football - i think a lot of people outside of Louisiana would be amazed
Honey Badger - another tale of redemption

great addition. i think La people and others who go through hurricanes their whole lives sometimes downplay their actual impact even something game changing like katrina. especially as time goes on.

What if I told you that the best player in all the land who was on the ONLY undefeated team left standing, didn't win the Heisman.

his redemption would have come full circle if he would have been on college gameday against # 3 ole miss.
he is still tainted if he was not able to be guest picker when LSU plays a # 3 ole miss.

Lol, nobody outside of us gives a shite about Matthieu or gorilla ball
I didn't give a sh*t about 80% of the 30 for 30's before I watched them, but it turns out they were all great stories that I got hooked on after watching for just a few minutes.

Cecil the Diesel or Albert Belle

The only correct answer is Pistol Pete. I don't think most people realize how his accomplishments will never be duplicated. His career points (only 3 years) will never be touched by any 4 year player unless they start playing an excessive amount of additional games.
Pete was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of his time.

What if I told you that one dynasty was responsible for an arms race that changed a sport forever?
Lsu and the evolution of gorilla ball.
Includes Bertman, the changes in bats, Cws format, and rosenblatt.
Just not controversial enough to garner a producer to want to take it on.

Billy Cannon - too long ago, though
Nothing really all that special about the story. Plus there's already been a movie made loosely about his life

Possibly, but besides being a great player I don't know if there is that much of a story anywhere else.

Absolutely no one besides LSU fans would give a shite.

Chris Jackson.
Probably the best story of the bunch. Arguably the best freshman basketball player of all time in an era where freshmen weren't supposed to be big time players like they are now. He was a great player with tourettes syndrome; He gained national attention when he converted to islam and refused to stand for the star spangled banner, essentially causing him to be banished from the NBA; Finally, his story about how Dale got him to LSU is pretty entertaining

Gorilla ball would not look good on us. But it would still be a good one.

He isn't just a great player. He is probably the best college basketball player of all time.
I'm sure they could find something to make a story out of whether it be his dad, Press coaching him at LSU or a story about his death. He died while playing basketball.

Shaq would be the best one in my opinion based solely on famous LSU sports alumni
Did we even make the playoffs with him?
If we are counting past coaches: One that will happen in my opinion is Nick Saban ...although it may be a while
And Skip would be pretty awesome

Gorilla ball would work, with part of the focus being on how Skip built the program from nothing into the best in the country.

Yeah, except college baseball is a blip on the national sports scene. I love LSU baseball, but it is smaller than some foreign soccer in terms of TV ratings.
