LSU currently sits at three commits along the offensive front with at least four key contributors departing and a likely six (Vadal and Hawk)

Shipley will likely be converted to a tackle. That gives us 2 tackles, 1 T/OG and 1 OG. Yeah, I don't understand his leaving either to a team loaded with OL, but we won't have a lack of depth.

We have Pocic, Boutte, Dodd, Clapp, Malone, Brumfield, Austin, and Domond. I also don't think Hawkins leaves, so that gives us at least a two deep. I wouldn't mine two more OL this year, but at least 4 guys that start next year, will start again in 2016.

Jalen Merrick's recruitment is about to heat up a bit more now. He should become a pretty big priority now IMO.

They'll play Shipley how they play Gordon -- thank God he is returning.

They can get through this if Hawk and Vadal come back. But I don't believe they will.

Yes you can if you process them after a year or two. This is what going to happen to Hootie after this year.

No, you can't. Recruiting a guy that's not good enough at your school, just to keep him away from your competition is so dumb to even suggest.

So you are saying that they also do this for guys that are going to AU and UT? Get a clue, y'all.

You're naive if you think top tier D1 programs don't offer some players just to keep them away from their primary opponents.

CFB is big business and the athletic departments and coaching staffs treat it as such.

Womack has high upside. Hate losing him but grimes has been recruiting a lot of players so I think we will be fine.

This kid is definitely not a big deal.

Hell, he's from Mississippi. Not exactly the home of can't miss recruits.

Tillery is a bigger loss, IMO.

Unfortunately, this won't affect Tillery's decision, because Womack never factored into his thinking anyway.

He has high upside but has a lot of work to do. Sucks to lose him but not a class killer by any means.

Womack is a huge loss for LSU's future offensive line. This is a major loss.

Of course you can take commitments that you never intend to play, just to keep them away from a rival. Ever heard of a gray shirt?
