In June of 2013 my chessie was negative for heart worms. Had her tested in October and she was positive. She's been on Iverheart Plus for two years. I hear they will pay to have the three Immiticide injections to kill the worms. Is there any truth to this?

I would have her tested at another vet. If I remember correctly the most common heart worm test, tests for the presence of heart worm antigens. These can be present if your dog has only been exposed to heart worms but may or may not actually have them.

We use advantage purchased through our vet who is authorized - out ver said if we ever had any issues with heart worms Advantage would pay for treatment so it may be paid for

Could be false positive, I've personally worked with vets in s. La that did this

Go to another vet and get tested again asap, the quicker you can tackle the problem if he/she is positive the better they will be off for treatment

I just spoke with a rep at petmeds. She said I needed to show test records and since I have a prescription with Iverheart, They should pay for the injections.
