What is the easiest way to buy a single share of stock?

I really want to buy an important person in my life a share of stock of the company she works for. It is publicly traded, and eventually I would like to get a paper certificate for it, but I want to get the purchase of the actual stock before Christmas.

Are you buying her a share of BRKA?

Nah, she works for Delta.

A family friend gave my youngest son a college graduation gift of one framed share of Microsoft. One site is oneshare.com. However, it doesn’t appear that Delta is one of the companies listed on their site. I know there are other sites that offer single shares as well. Good luck on your search.

I mean, worst comes to worst I'll just use my old ETrade account and eat the fee.

It won't be easy to get a certificate in 12 days. That stuff usually moves slower than imaginable.

Plenty of places offer single stock purchases.
Some even give you the option of buying partial.
Delta however doesn't issue paper certificates even on request.
This is interesting however:
I can get cancelling distribution....but where did the value of unclaimed stocks go?

All old stock certificates were issued through an old CUSIP, which has been cancelled, and, therefore, the certificates have no value.
