Layout Blinds

Anybody used the layout blinds with waterproof bottom in flooded ag fields? I bought one and planning to try it out this weekend. Going to try it on a levee but also want to try it out in the middle of a field as well. Will be my first time to hunt a layout. Just wondering what if there are any trucks to hunting one out in a flooded field. Thx in advance.

Pretty straight forward. Lay down and cover up.
Make sure you have enough brush or whatever on it so you blend in.

Hunt out of mine all the time. Most people who have never done it before aren't used to shooting from that position so you might want to practice. Put your decoys off of you so that you are shooting at ducks that will be working into your decoys in front of you. The beauty of a layout blind is you can always move the blind a few feet one way or another if you need to. Also mud your blind up before using to take the shine off the camo and brush it until you can't brush it any more.

A regular layout blind in the actual flooded field would probably get you soaked and uncomfortable. They make waterproof shells for them that are sold separately, but standing alone they are not that waterproof.
Now, MoMarsh Shallow Water Systems has multiple options for hunting shallow water solo. From the invisilay which is a layout on legs to the invisichair and even the FatboyDP which I want very badly.

I have an older Avery neotub with a Finisher. It has held up pretty well and is probably close to 6-7 years old now. I'd go with a different model other than the finisher if I was to buy another one.

It's the one from cabelas with the waterproof material on bottom and up the sides. Says it can go in 10" of water. Got a place to hunt it with less than 6". Will test this wknd and see what happens. It's the northern flight ultimate.
Won't be very comfortable shooting from that position but will be worth if I get some mallards and specs cupped on top of me.
