The number of police there made me wonder the same thing. Had to be a lot more than an ordinary house call.

That's the complex where Vernon Roger killed himself in 2002. His birthday is next Tuesday, I believe.

It's because they spelled the name of the complex incorrectly... It is Duplantier, not du Plantier. Magnolia Mound was owned by a Duplantier from France, there is a Bayou Duplantier by LSU and even a street called Duplantier. That complex screwed up the name.

Aren't there some Duplantiers buried in the little cemetery at the Southgates?
Important family to BR history.

Heard from a friend that it was a suicide last night. Not a murder like I originally thought.

Yep... Armand Duplantier came over from France, married the family that just built Magnolia Mound. Them and the Klienpeters were basically the two important families of the area back then. Brec owns Magnolia Mound now since the kid that ended up with it went bankrupt many years later.

Drove through there about a year ago and started getting a little scared. There was lots of culture there hanging around.
Drove by there today, and it seems renovated and...and...what's the opposite of culture? Bland. Nice and bland.
