I love a good armed citizen story. The woman behind the counter was not hit and there was blood found at the scene, which leads me to believe she made at least one hit.

Gun Store Robbed LOLZ

First, why does the dude rack his Glock after every shot? Is it really jamming that much or is he just limp wristing it? Or is he just doing it because he's a dumbass?

Next, this video brings up some good points about defense:

1. You may not have to draw in a millisecond, but it needs to be smooth and deliberate. She seemed to clear her gun very quickly.

2. Practice. Practice. Practice. I don't know if she learned to shoot one-handed since she's old, but obviously the gun is a lot harder to control with one hand.

3. This is why I usually don't suggest tiny .38 revolvers to women unless they shoot one and decide they want it. The gun jumps all over the place while firing. Granted, she's shooting with one hand, it still has quite a bit of recoil.

4. I know that most of this crap I say is moot since I've never personally been in a shootout. I have no idea how I would act in these scenarios and I'm glad these people chose not to be victims. But the most we can do is take notes and learn from their situations. Videos of live confrontation are the best teaching tools out there.

Stay vigilant and keep your heads on a swivel. Be calm and carry one.

Granny wasted no time. She was ready for it.

I don't even like shooting my snub nose. They are just harsh little pistols, I don't understand why they push women towards them.

I didn't care for the motel owners comments. I'd like to see how his tune would change if someone pulled a gun on him in his motel.

Agreed. It's not like she was shooting out the front door.

I'm glad she fought back and that she wasn't hurt but she went into a gun fight where she was outgunned 2 to 1 and outgunned in the ammo department as well 6 to 20-something. It could have turned out badly for her and her coworker the second they heard that revolver clicking empty.

Hindsight is 20/20, she did everything she needed to do and probably did it better than the vast majority in such a situation. She had what she is comfortable which counts the most.

And kudos to ole girl - the draw was smooth and decisive, if not particularly fast. If she had trained to go to a 2-handed stance, she might have gotten a second hit. However, the accomplice (red) was flanking her, so she had to make her 1 deliberate shot count before she ducked for cover.

This.

And, another lesson ---> never try to rob a business named "___ Gun & Pawn Shop." Employees will usually be armed.

Amen to that. One of my long time clients owns and operates a pawn shop. SHE always carries and she'll shoot you if you mess with her. Long legged, good lookin red head who is all business.

In an email, Sergeant Daniel Grubbs with the Fort Smith Police Department, said Gould arrived at Sparks Hospital with a gun shot wound to the forearm. He told an officer he’d been shot in Little Rock and checked into Sparks under a different name. Upon further questioning, police found inconsistencies in Gould’s story. They contacted several police agencies in the state, including Springdale.

Probably wouldn't have caught them if he wouldn't have gotten shot and had to go to the hospital.

Yeah he definitely didn't know the whole story. He was talking like they were just shooting for no good reason. People are crazy.

Good for that lady, but taking on 2 guys at each end of the store shooting at you is not the situation I ever want to be in.

Now people know they can rob him - he's not armed, and doesn't agree with shooting.

Free target recon.

I can't make fun because who knows what the adrenaline does but watching the video, I can definitely see why the bad guys didn't score a hit

I think it is a serious lack of experience and confidence in the weapon. He may be limp-wristing or he may have selected really cheap, shitty ammo. He probably just doesn't know what the hell he's doing. Robbing a pawn shop or gun store is a sign of low situational awareness, period.

I would be willing to bet that he may have never fired that gun at a target before. He clearly had no idea what the hell he was doing. If he had any experience at all, that woman may be dead today.
