I put my 14 year old Boston Terrier down last May and I'm ready to start looking for another dog. I'm thinking I may stay with a Boston as he was a GREAT dog! Do any of you have any other recomendations as to what kind of dogs are good? I'd like to keep it to a dog about the same size as a Boston (under 35 lbs). Thanks guys

Pugs are great small dogs because they aren't yappy like little dogs. Very affectionate, playful and loyal. But....they shed A TON, can be stubborn and want to be by you all the time(which can be a good thing if you want a cuddly dog).

Yelp Baton Rouge
this is where I got both of my dogs. They are very easy to deal with, and will even hold a dog for up to a week if you can't pay for it that day!

You know damn well you're going to get another Boston, and for good reason...I can't imagine my house without one now that we've had ours for a few years.

Quick questions before advice can be given:
1. How much do you plan to beat the dog?
2. Are you angry with where your life is right now?
3. Do you see your life getting better in the future, resulting in fewer beatings for the dog?
4. How much do you drink?
5. Are you afraid of dying alone?
6. Does this fear make you angry and beat dogs more than you normally would?
7. Do you have a yard?
8. Would you plan on beating your dog in the yard?

Boston Rescue
These are the people I adopted my Boston from...they also have French bulldogs. I would get another Boston from them in a heart beat, but the price to adopt a
Frenchie is absurd when compared to the cost of a puppy.
She made arrangements to meet me to deliver the dog when I did my adoption and her site says TN is somewhere she'd adopt to (which I would assume means making arrangements to meet up with you if interested)

I'm partial to Dachshunds (mine is my avatar pic). Tons of personality and tough as nails. They can be very hard headed and not easy to train, so if you can find a rescue that's house trained, you'll never regret getting one.
I will always have a Dachshund.
Beagles are great too, but are loud barkers and need a yard to run around in.
Hounds, in general, are great dogs.
