I'm heading down tomorrow, from what I've heard its started but not in full swing yet.

This ranch down around us did post this video recently of a couple nice bucks getting after it, so rattling could be a good option

from what my outfitter said, it's running a little behind...... January will be my first trip ever down there so I'm really of no help here.

How does a place like yours respond to the rut? Does it follow the same time line as free range places around you?

Yeah, it's all on the same timeline. I tried to rattle last weekend on our low fenced property and nothing. Same deal inside our fence. I'm hoping it picks up this weekend.

I friend on mines hunts next to a place that just put up a fence a few years ago. The deer still run the same path during the rut. The bucks get jammed up at the fence line and they have been smoking them the last few years. He says the bucks will run up and down the fence chasing does on the opposite side.
