So I had reservations for my girlfriends birthday to go to La Boca on Friday night and I was really pumped about that, but her family is now in the plans and there's no reservations available for larger parties.

So that's a no go (damnit)

Trying to find a place with a lively/louder atmosphere, entrees probably in the 20-25 range since there'll be the family. A place where with lots of shared small plates and really good drinks would be cool too. Dont want to be too far from downtown. Got suggestions?

TIA

Yes Arsenal fan, when I made the account I thought I was going to post on the soccer board but I just haven't.

Only been to Finns for one game, just moved down here in May I need to make it more I enjoyed it. Except for the fact that it was the United match. That wasn't too pleasurable.

Definitely will do on both fronts.

And thank you all for the suggestions. I think I'm going to go with Borgne. Been wanting to try it for a while just wasn't sure about the atmosphere.

I'm thinking a SBGT on Boxing Day if you are in town.

Seated pretty quickly at 8:00 for six people this past friday at Borgne. Wouldn't imagine it would be too packed.

A louder venue for sure.

How packed is Borgne before a Pelicans game, say around 4:30-5?

Only been once at that time, so not a good sample size. It was full, but seats were still available. On a Friday it could be a little fuller.

You could go somewhere on Freret but they aren't that lively.

Borgne is probably a good option. Domenica may be in it depending on what you order. And I think College Inn has entrees in that price range.
