$8

Whats so great about the taproom? I was just there and they had their flagships on tap and the two lagers are boring.

They have been doing a better job of having more offerings in the taproom lately.

You gotta admit its pretty impressive what they have done in their first year.

They have made a lot of beers that are alright. I guess it is impressive, but their distribution to south la isn't exactly because of demand, but because they can.

I have been more impressed wih Abita in the past year than almost any other brewery.

:lmao:

Oh wait, you're serious?

Abita is making great strides, BUT has not come close to putting out the quality of beers great raft and parish have put out this year.

Not a troll, the new IPA, barrel aged stout, imperator (not great, but good), macchiato, grapefruit IPA.

Might be going back more than a year on some of those.

Parish with Imperial Stout and Ghost, Abita is not even close.

The saison from GR is amazing, the DIPA is good.

Abita doesn't have to do much to catch up with GR, IMO

Its pretty amazing how many different beers they have released in bottles/cans in their first year. Y'all can call me a homer all you want, but with all their actual releases, the taproom, etc, its hard not to consider GR the best overall brewery in LA right now. They have been putting out new bottle releases every 2 months.

FWIW, I agree with you. Definitely a two horse race between Great Raft and Parish. Nobody else in the state even comes close.

Speaking of parish, all of the Envie bottles I've seen in the past two months have not had dates on them. Anyone know what's going on with that? Have a made a fresh batch lately that was bottled?

^This

Grace & Grit, All My Tomorrow's, At Arm's Length, Creature of Habit, and now Awkward Uncle. That's a phenomenal list of bottle releases in their first year. All have been excellent. And that's not even touching on the 3 very solid flagships, or Make Believer (which might be their best beer to date). Their product is extremely consistent and consistently above average to great.

Parish makes some great beer too, but I find their normal stuff to be inferior to GR's. Sure Farmhouse, Hoptagon, Grand Reserve, GITM are all excellent, but their normal bottled selection leaves me searching for something different usually.

More than anything I'm just excited to see where the breweries in the state go in the next year. The Pappy-aged beer from GR should be awesome and no telling what else they'll come up with.
