I really like him coming off of the bench. He got some time with the starters tonight.

Had enough confidence in him to let him close out the game.

So has he replaced Ryno in the finishing five (when holding onto a lead)?

I hope. I definitely prefer him to Ryno.

No. That's Asik.

Cunningham replaced Rivers or Salmons or Babbitt. If/when Gordon comes back, he might even replace him or Evans to protect a lead. He's the only guy on the team who has the length/size/athleticism to somewhat bother scoring 3s.

He adds atheleticism at the 3 that our 2nd unit hasn't had in years...

I think he will start playing more and more minutes as well

I didn't get to see the game last night but from what I'm hearing Cunningham played well. How did Mekel look?

He couldn't make a layup (so he fits right in) but the flow of the game felt more comfortable with him handling the ball than Rivers. He made some pretty good passes, too.

perfect

As long as he gets us into the offense I'd say he's doing what he needs to. Any way to get that job away from Rivers is cool with me. He's so much better off the ball.

Shooters get in slumps, which he clearly is in.... but to say he's overrated... you're dumb

Ryno's value comes in being able to get the shot off. Just look at Babbitt by contrast, shooting over 50% from 3, but half the time he can't get his shot off before the defender closes on him. Ryno will get back to his usual 38%-40% from 3 point range (he's shooting 31.6% now) and all will be well.

"How did Mekel look?"

This was my first time to get a look at Mekel and I mostly liked what I saw even though he missed some scoring opportunities and (mostly from what I read) did not have as good a game last night. What I love is the overall impact of him handling the ball with the second unit. Rivers looks like a different player.

Yeah, he doesn't look like much of a scorer, but his handling and running of the 2nd unit looks like it'll be pretty important. He has a knack for finding the open guy, which is something we can't say about too many of our other Guards.

He's definitely earning himself a nice contract somewhere else next year. Guy is absolutely legit.
