Registering for my wedding

I am working with a hodge podge of kitchen equipment at the house. What brands, cookware, equipment, and the like do you really recommend? I am trying to keep the price ranges diverse for those who want to spend next to nothing or a good amount.

I do all the cooking for us, along with big tailgates and get togethers. I have full authority over the kitchen except for color scheme So hit me with whatever things I gotta have in my kitchen.

Go register at your local restaurant supply store. Restaurant grade equipment for a cheaper price than what you will get at any department store.

Tip: Register for everything separately. You are more likely to rack up that way and then can return and get a set if it makes sense. This applies to knives and pots/pans.

Good knives
Pots/pans
cutting boards
Pyrex
Cookie sheet and cake pan
Storage stuff for leftovers and dry stuff
Measuring things
Digital scale
Mixing bowls
Spatula
Cooking spoons and other utensils including tongs
Mini food processor
Immersion blender
Cast iron skillet
Dutch/French oven

Le Creuset enamel covered cookware. That's the best thing we got. It ain't cheap -- $300 or so for an 8 quart pot -- but that's the sort of thing parents, godparents or rich relatives can spring for. The pot we got from there, I use constantly.

Bed, Bath & Beyond has a good mix of stuff at a variety of prices. You need to look at a wedding as a chance to get an upgrade over the crap you bought when you got out of college -- if you want a new can opener or a toaster, go for it.

Oh I do trust me

Like I said I cook every night, for tailgates of anywhere from 100-200 people, and any other times. Most of my equipment is kept-up with but just a mixture of things that take the place of others.

If you have to go with a "mall" level retailer registry, then opt for Sur La Table or Williams Sonoma over Bed/Bath/Beyond or department store. Better choices & more options.
--Global knives (7" chef's or santoku, 4" utility knife, serrated bread knife)
--Staub or Le Creuset for a couple diff sizes of enameled cast iron pots (5, 7, 9 quart are most useful to me)
--All Clad for saucepans (2 & 4 qt) & 10" skillet (NOT nonstick)
--ScanPan for nonstick (11-12" plus a lid and 8" for eggs)
--Duralex Picardie for everyday glasses (in various sizes)
--Baking Steel or baking stone
I find the major kitchen stores stupidly overpriced for baking pans (buy 1/2 sheet pans, pie tins, loaf pans at a restaurant supply store)
Add some smaller things like silicone spatulas/stirrers, cutting boards, veg peelers, a good maple rolling pin, etc.

Dunno if you need electrical stuff, but I love my Breville smart oven....worth every penny.

Awesome, seems like a lot of stuff I need to go checkout.

I just wanted to register wherever I could get a couple large burners/pots, maybe an electric smoker, and a kegerator but she said no.

You don't have to keep anything you pick out at most of these places. You can turn them in for credit and get what you want from each store. Pick out things in various prices.
