Apparently Tavenner's dog ate her response about the 400k dental plans being included in Obamacare numbers. She didn't turn it in last night in the docu-dump.

I won't be able to watch but I did click on your link and Issa was bloviating as expected and making assertions. 
For example he asserted Gruber was the architect of Obamacare. Instead of making that assumption pepper Gruber with questions and make him establish that assertion. It's a much more powerful tact. Issa sucks.

Okay, technically he said "many consider you the architect".
But that not my point. Instead of an opening statement 5 minutes long I would have started the hearing:
State your name?
Where do you work?
Have you worked for the federal government as a consultant?
What was your scope of your consulting contract (Gruber knowing that Issa has the scope right in front of him)?
I'm not even a lawyer and I could establish that Guber was the architect of Obamacare simply by making him reiterate his scope of work for the federal government.

Cummings does very little without feeling.
But what do you expect? Gruber pulled back the curtain in a way that can never be undone. He confirmed the ugly truth the Right had been claiming about the ACA and his words helped the Red Wedding that was the recent mid-term election.

Based on Gruber's opening statements, he is going to self fladulate about his comments but isolate them from any actual policy by saying he is an economist and not a politician. He wasn't involved in political aspects of passing ACA and his comments carry no weight with regards to any political strategy with regards to passing ACA.
He isn't going to give up anything.
ETA: Cummings was not throwing Gruber's under the bus, he was setting the stage for the coordinated strategy, which is to have Gruber hat in hand re his statements but isolate them from any political strategy that was implemented. All planned.
