Looks like I am going to have some flex spending money left over at the end of the year. I am going to get some prescription sunglasses and I was wondering what the OB had to say on the subject. I will be fishing murky freshwater most of the time with the occasional trip to near shore saltwater.

I have had a pair probably 15 years ago. My issue was that they really screwed with my depth perception. I could not wear them playing golf and as a result, I left them on the cart and they must have bounced off or something. $200 down the drain.
Switching back and forth was a pain as well.

I am going to leave them in the boat and just wear them when I am fishing. I want to be able to better see bait under the surface. It's annoying when friends that have costas or other nice glasses can see bait when I can't

I have a pair of Rx Costas. I went with the green lens because I also fish freshwater.

I have had them going on 3 yrs. The biggest problem will be if your eye sight is stable or getting worse. You don't want to have to buy a new pair of Rx Sunglasses every other year along regular eyeglasses.

Get ready to cough up a kidney or first born if you actually have to come out of pocket for these. OP, I hope you have about $600 in your flex account if you want Costas.

Went through this last year. Costa and MJ were going to be 0ver $600. I found a pair of Wiley X that fit perfectly. $303. I bought them. Love them.

I have a pair of RX Costas that have lasted 10 years. Good glasses, and still use them sometimes. Quite scratched by this point, though.

I have a newer pair of RX RayBan Aviators. They're OK for fishing/hunting, but I'll be getting another pair of Costas next year for hunting/fishing, as they seem to be more durable, lighter, and easier to use.

i have some Rx Costa Harpoons. Bought w/MSA money, otherwise i would not buy. great for fishing and driving, just develop alot of fog inside lens for some reason. w/o air circulating, the fit is too close.

if i get another pair, i would go with Alx's brand. $600 is just redonck.

If on the northshore give me a call one of my specialties is fitting fishermen with the proper lens color and style for the right application.

I think hands down Maui Jims are the best going for Rx sunwear. Are they cheap nope, but good glass isn't. Look how much a rifle scope costs that most use 5-10 times a year at most.

unfortunately I am in Chattanooga TN so I won't be able to take you up on that. What kind of lenses would you suggest for 99% Freshwater with an occasional trip to the coast thrown in?
