Going by the comment section it looks like the hire of Jay Gruden would go over as bad as a turd in a punch bowl.

quote:

"One source I trust tipped me off to a potential landing spot for Gruden: The University of Michigan," reported Risdon in his weekly $.10 column. "This source, who is intimately familiar with the Wolverines' rapidly emerging coaching search, informed me on Thursday that initial contact has been made between the parties and that Gruden's representation was enthusiastically open to the potential."

as a Redskin fan, I wish him luck. He has tried to come into the cess pool that is Dan Snyder football and tried to make changes, but he is losing quickly.

This is the very rare case in which a head college job is better than a head job in the league.

I really can't imagine having to deal with Synder, Gruden would be lucky to get out of that shitshow of an organization and go to a place like Michigan where he can actually control his team

He has done a bad job at Washington and his treatment of RG3 in public has been appalling. Although he was forced to keep Jim Haslett so he probably never had a chance. And the Redskins are suffering from the lack of draft picks, they have no depth and huge deficits in talent at many positions.

That organization made a terrible decision in RG3 and the draft picks. It has costed them big. The front office is hell bent on continuing to make it work with RG3.

He did exactly what needed to be done with the QB...he ain't kissing his arse, and he ain't letting the QB get him fired. If he gets fired, he'll get fired doing it his way. The QB need to shut the hell up, and I'm glad the coach made that point to him, the media, and Snyder.

I disagree with any organization airing dirty laundry in public. And as the last few weeks show, the problems with the Redskins are not all RG3. They sucked as much, or more, without him. Now if you say they can be traced to drafting RG 3, I would agree. But Gruden has not done a good job of managing the team and deserves some blame, instead of throwing his players under the bus. The Skins have quit on him and as a lifelong Redskins fan, I am sad to see it happen.
