how has he never been part of any US youth team? is he on JK's radar at some point?

He seems like a solid prospect, but I wonder how much of his success is due to being surrounded by the league's top midfield and Robbie Keane.
I'm sure he's been on JK's radar for quite some time, and I think he'll get his chance at some point.

I'm sure he's on his radar. I haven't watched really any of Zardes play but I remember him going on a tear at the beginning of the season but I think he cooled off considerably.
If Alan Gordon can get a call up, I'm sure Zardes will.

I'm sure he'll get a call up next month. I hope Jurgen sees that he is more of natural winer than he is striker. Bruce figured that out towards the end of this season.

All games I saw recently had him up top 
I think he has the athleticism to be a winger, though.
Apparently he turned down European offers to sign with the Galaxy. He has a contract that's more lucrative than that of most young players.
