Would anyone be talking about Ohio St getting in over both of them?

Nope. The NCAA would cream their pants to have a OU/TX vs Bama matchup. Texas/Bama in the Sugar Bowl? They'd lose their minds.

Id guess that Texas and OU wouldn't have to hire PR firms either.

there would be discussion but I believe Texas or Oklahoma have established themselves over the years enough to get in. Not so in the case of TCU and Baylor. It is as it should be.

That's the type of thinking that the committee is supposed to eliminate.

Wrong. That is the type of thinking the computers eliminated. The committee is 100% subjective just like the polls are.

This isn't a history class. It should be the best teams on a given year, not taking the past into consideration

they aren't one of the 4 best teams as proven by history. Tulane went 11-0 one year and of course wasn't considered for the BCSNC game either. If TExas or Oklahoma went 11-1 it would mean something. Their history backs up the facts of them being championship caliber teams.

No, and here's why.

Let's compare resumes if the following four teams went 11-1 in the Big 12:

Team 1 played MAC East #3, AAC #10, and an FCS school

Team 2 played AAC #10, Big Ten West #2, and an FCS school

Team 3 played CUSA West #1, AAC #8, and SEC East #4

Team 4 played CUSA West #6, PAC 12 South #2, and the FBS independent with the best record

Who has a stronger nonconference schedule?

What conference did Tulane win that year? Was it the one that included Texas and Oklahoma?

Well Texas fans should blame that stupid tiebreaker, not Briles. OU's ooc schedule was way better that year.

Edit: Guess it's his fault too that Colt McCoy quit the next year.

In 2008, the 5th tiebreaker for a 3-way tie to send a team to the conference championship was BCS ranking.

Art Briles voted Texas 10th in the coaches poll and Oklahoma #1.
