Anteaters - Benefits of male circumcision outweigh risks, CDC says

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday that years’ of research and mounds of medical evidence suggests the benefits of male circumcision outweigh the risks.
Clinical trials conducted over the course of five years in sub-Saharan Africa has led officials with the CDC in the United States to conclude this week that circumcision can prove to be a powerful factor in diminishing a male’s risk of contracting the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and sexually transmitted infections, including types of the human papilloma virus (HPV) and herpes, as well potential urinary tract infections during infancy.
Although the draft paper notes that social, cultural, ethical and religious factors play a part in deciding whether or not an infant male should have their foreskin removed, CDC officials now believe that doing such can decrease the risk of contracting HIV by 60 percent over time, and reduces the odds of testing positive for certain cancers by a third. What about everywhere else NOT in essentially the worst place on Earth?
Not to mention, why do circumcised guys get so worked up about the dicks of other dudes? As a circumcised guy myself, it does make we wonder if I'm missing something sexually by having that many nerve endings removed before I knew any better. If sex is great now, and we all seem to like it...why would more feelings be worse?

Plus, it makes it look bigger!

What about for people who aren't regularly sticking their dick in infected people?
A circumcision isn't going to mean shite if you're not fricking HIV+ women. Here, the risks very much do outweigh the benefits.

Do anteaters warn the girls ahead of time?

Probably true in Africa and other places with poor hygiene and rampant STDs

And they could completely eliminate HIV by cutting the whole penis off.
Hey, they could prevent broken legs by amputating them.
The CDC's reasoning is bull.
There is no scientific evidence supporting the religiously-influenced barbaric practice of circumcision.

The Cal-Irvine Anteater's mascot's nickname is "Peter".
You can't make this up.

If you say so...but I'd think much of that has to do with the WHY more than the actual event. This is still done primarily as a religious thing...the CDC message is simply cover.
Again...I'm circumcised. Before I really did much thinking about the issue, I had my boys circumcised.
And yet...I do wonder if it was a mistake. It's hard to miss something I never had, but it's also hard to hear that what was removed was also something that would have made one of the greatest things ever even BETTER and not feel like I'd have liked to have had that decision to make on my own.
